First Impressions: True Match Lumi Cushion

Hi Everyone! I recently stumbled across this new L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation at my local LA Walgreens and since there aren't much reviews out yet thought I would put my two cents in.

Packaging:

I love the packaging of this product. It comes with a sponge that works well with the formula of the foundation and applies it evenly on the skin, I did not feel like I needed to have my own tools to use this foundation.

My only negative thing to say about the packaging is that issue of sanitation, especially with the sponge. Other than that I have had no issues with the foundation spilling or it being messy.

Claims:

  • Finish: Fresh & Luminous
  • Coverage: Sheer to medium, buildable coverage
  • For all skin types. Safe for sensitive skin.
I would have to say that the foundation lives up to all the claims. It is a very sheer coverage which you can build up to medium and it won't feel cacky. However, if you prefer matt finish or full coverage this foundation is not for you. The luminous part you can always fix with a quick dusting of powder but for me personally the luminous would shine through after three hours. It wasn't bad to the point where I looked like a disco ball but it was definitely noticeable for me (and I have an oily T-zone). But in the bright side it didn't cling to any dry patches.

Final Thoughts:

My only other complaint about this foundation is the limited range that it offers, especially for woman of color. It reminds me a lot of Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation except that with Maybelline you can build up the coverage to full. My problem with both is that I would get shiny throughout the day, even when using a mattifying primer and powder. L'oreal does a better job at controlling my oils than did Maybelline. Ideally this would be great for someone who doesn't like full coverage foundations and wants somethings easy and maybe even on the go. Everyone's skin is different so I wouldn't completely throw it off your list if you have oily skin just work with powders and primers (and blotting sheets).

BH Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick-Review and Swatches

Hi everyone!!! So I let a friend borrow my camera and tripod so I was not able to upload a video today :( I had a backup but as I was editing the video I was just not happy with the content so I figured I would not post it just for have a video and instead I would post what I wanted to talk about here.
On Cyber Monday, I ordered the new BH cosmetics lipsticks. I didn't find too many reviews on the lipsticks so I only ordered three different colors to try them out. It was a good thing I did decide to give them a chance (I didn't have high hopes for them) because they are AWESOME. They are without a doubt the best liquid lipstick formula I have tried yet, and trust me I have tried a lot. They beat out all other liquid lipstick in comfortability and they don't dry out my lips out at all. They do last a long time (I haven't tested how long but they do last throughout a meal) and they don't feel tacky on the lips. And of course, they are also transfer-proof. And if for whatever reason they start to fade they reapply perfectly on the lips no crumbling what so ever with these!
In my opinion go and get your favorite colors cause you won't regret it!! You can find them on the BH Cosmetic Website

Swatches (From top to bottom: Endora, Senera, and Clara)
I love the pink color, Endora, I have worn it twice already since receiving my package. I swatched Senera and Clara on my lips but both colors just weren't my cup of tea on my lips, even though I loved the swatches on my hand. (As you can guess Senera was too light/bright on my lips and Clara swatched out too brown.)
BUT I found that if I mix the two together I get the most BEAUTIFUL nude for my complexion. Here is a picture of the two mix together:

Price of these are $11 dollars but BH Cosmetics always has sales, currently they are running a sale and you can find these for $6 dollars each, which is a great deal for such an awesome product!

PS Check out this Instagram post to see me with Senera/Clara on my lips

Random Thoughts:
  • I'm thinking of making a video talking about my favorite/top liquid lipsticks since I have found three formulas I really enjoy
  • One more video/blog post will be coming out about another review of a different brand of liquid lipstick.

Favorites Friday

Hi everyone! Thought I would start this weekly post on my blog with weekly favorites.
Since I my skin can change from week to week due to allergies I never wear the same foundation consistently for more than two weeks. I don't wear makeup consistently every week so if there is ever a week I feel like I am repeating products I'll just change it up to just new favorites I have discovered or have random favorites! :)

This week although it warmed up slightly in the middle of the week and it has been sunny my face lost it's natural tan and it has been feeling dry so I wasn't loving my summer foundation: L'oreal Infallible. Instead this week I went back to TheBalm's TimeBalm which I am in the shade: Medium.
I really like putting a light layer in the center of my face and use it to mostly cover up my redness.
The primer I have been using has been the NYX Angel Veil because it is a primer that doesn't emphasize my dryness and doesn't make me oily throughout the day in my T-zone. I have been loving and having time to do my brows so this week I have been using Milani Stay Put Brow Color.

Lips:  I have used this week have been Sephora's Cream Lip Stain in Marvelous Mauve and the Elf Matte Lipsticks, which I found at Target in a set for an awesome price! (Which you can find here)

Random Thoughts:

  • I ended work early today thinking I was going to come home, eat, shower, upload this post, and do my homework assignments. So far I have only done two of these... any guesses of which two?

Lush Haul

Hi Everyone!!
Here is a new video I have added on my channel. Let me know what you think about the lighting on this video compared to the first video I posted. I'm trying to see which of the two I like better :)

random thoughts...

  • I know its better to make your own thumbnails for Youtube but the faces that come up in the Youtube thumbnails make me laugh all the time so I've kept them.
  • Two more weeks left in the semester!!! I have finals and totally unprepared for them...
  • So my boyfriend and I lent my camera and tripod to a friend... so I wont be able to film a video on Friday :( I'm hopping to film over the weekend so I have enough time to edit and upload by Wednesday

Christie's Corner

HI! Welcome to Christie's Corner. Or as the link above says: UniquelyChristieCorner. I am a 23 year old who is currently juggling a full time job, part time student, and trying out my hand in being more involved in social media/blogging. I wanted to try something different where I don't want to brand myself as doing just one thing (i.e. make up, DIYs, vlogs, lifestyle) so Instead I am want to create a space where you can come and find something different in every post.

Not gong to lie its a little nerve wracking to throw myself into all this social media when I barely post anything on my personal one. But I wanted to pursue my hobbies a bit more and I wanted to mix together everything I personally like to see in social media. I called my blog Christie's Corner because originally I wanted to just name it like my other social media: uniquelychristie but since that username is taken I figure I create a different name that I had been torn to name my youtube channel.

I do need to add a disclaimer: everything I post on here will be my own honest opinions. I am in no way a professional make up artist, photographer, nutritionist, or any other types of post I will have. This is a space I have decided to be a part of where I can share my opinions and welcome feedback.

On this page I will be posting my videos that I create for Youtube but I will also have a weekly Monday post that could either be personal updates (in vlog form or written form) or posts that I wanted to create in written form rather than video form.
